Dāniyāl and the Khān Khānān appeared before the city, and the mob who had found courage to murder their queen had little left for the defence of their homes. The defences were destroyed by mines and the place was carried by assault. The young king, Bahādur, was sent as a state prisoner to Gwalior and Ahmadnagar was garrisoned by a force of imperial troops.
