The Sanskrit metre is dealt with in Caṇṭakaparva which differs in many respects from Vṛtta-sañcaya, the famous Kakawin on the subject referred to above. These, together with grammatical works⁶ dealing with Sanskrit conjugation, formation of compounds, *etc.*, show the active pursuit of that language in Java until the very end.
