The name of Pulindas does not appear in the parallel list given in the *Śāṅkhāyana Śrauta-sūtra*. They are found along with the Andhras at the time of Aśoka. Their capital, according to the *Mahābhārata*, probably lay to the south-east of the Bhilsa region.
