The presents of the foreigners were offered in a public darbār. The king examined them himself and rewarded the person according to his position. He was liberal towards his officers of all grades. Every year the governors of cities and officers of the army were given two robes of honour in summer and winter which were received by the officers concerned outside their city-gates with marks of great respect and submission.⁶⁷
