v1.c31.90

The passing of Pahlava rule in eastern Gandhāra (Takshaçilā) is illustrated by the remarkable hoard of 21 small silver coins, which was found by Sir John Marshall in an earthern jar on the ancient site of Sirkap. The coins belong to four distinct classes, all hitherto unknown—two belonging to the reign of Gondopharnes, and one each to the reigns of Pacores and V'ima Kadphises.
