¹ The inscription was first noticed by Cunningham, *ASR*, Vol. XXI, p. 51, plate XIII. The 'substance of the inscription as read by a Simla Pandit' gives the date wrongly as S. 1312. The record was properly edited by Kielhorn in *EI*, Vol. I, pp. 325-30. This scholar took Nāndīpura of this inscription to be another name of Jayadurga or Ajaigarh. Cunningham suggested that the Kṣitipāla Govindarāja, the maternal grandfather of Kalyāṇadevī 'may perhaps have been the Raja of Nalapura, or Narwar, the predecessor of the famous Chāhaḍadeva, the gallant opponent of the Mahomedans.'
