v1.c14.42
“We must both equally share our ancestral acquisitions. After our father’s death you have alone enjoyed the whole without a single reference to me. I do not ask for a share of what you have earned by your effort. You may make whatever acquisitions you can, and God grant you strength for the same. But I must demand a share in what our father had left. For this you must produce recorded evidence upon which we should base our claims. I am ready to offer you help whenever you need it. You must speak out freely and without reservation what your position is.” To this the only reply that Ekoji made was a vague one,—“I submit to your commands.”
