v2.c27.30
A great hue and cry was at once raised. The ambassadors and the members of their party were cut to pieces by the infuriated Marathas. Before expiring, Jayappa gave full instructions to his brother Dattaji and son Jankoji for avenging the wrong without being in the least disheartened by his death. Thus fell a valiant Maratha soldier, a victim to the foul play of the Rajputs. Rawat Jait Sinh Sisodia an Udaipur representative residing with Jayappa, who happened to be present at the discussion, was innocently killed in the confusion, as every Rajput was considered succour.
