Lakhwā Dādā in concert with Jagu Bāpu, took charge of his office as Sindhia’s viceroy in Northern India, on 1st November 1794. His dismissed predecessor Gopāl Bhāu accompanied by his family took refuge in De Boigne’s camp, seeking protection from the violence of his long unpaid soldiery.
