the published records of the reign is an inscription in the seventh year of the king from Tiruppūndurutti in the Tanjore district (No. 166 of 1894) with the long historical introduction¹ *Pumalar*, etc., and this gives us an idea of the king's prodigious activity in the early years of his rule.
