Page 80, n. 1.—Summarizing the larger Sinnamanūr plates, Mr. Krishna Sastri says of this Rājasimha that he ‘defeated the king of Tanjai (Tanjore) at Naippūr, fought a battle at Kodumbai (Kodumbālūr) the seat of one of the powerful Chola subordinates, burnt Vanji and destroyed the king of southern Tanjai (perhaps another subordinate of the Cholas) at Nāval.’ (S.I.I., vol. iii, p. 449).
