How much of the 598 *kalañjus* and 1 *kunṟi*, the total assessment on Śiṅgaḷāntaka-catm. was due from Paḻaiyanūr is not certain; possibly it was the amount of 193 *kalañjus* and odd mentioned further. on. If that was so, the paddy mentioned along with this sum was the net share of the Brahmin donees who had rights in Paḻaiyanūr. A *nagaram* sometimes paid its dues in gold (*SII.* ii. 4, paragraph 13).
