Fig. 73. Śiva as Pradōṣamūrti. Bronze. Tiruvāḍutuṟai, Tanjore District. Śiva standing in the beautiful *tribhaṅga* pose, embraces Pārvatī on his left who is also shown in the same pose. Both of them stand on a common *padmāsana* over a *bhadrāsana* to which is attached a *prabhāvalī* of beautiful form. In spite of the late date suggested by the workmanship and elaboration of the *prabhā*, *jaṭāmakuṭa*, the flexion and of other ornaments and drapery, the sculptor’s attempt to emulate the ideals of earlier models has remarkably succeeded.
