Daṇḍaka. The Daṇḍaka forest extended right across the peninsula from the hills of Orissa to the source of the Godāvarī but the Purāṇic janapada of Daṇḍaka probably referred to the valley of the Indrāvatī, a left-bank tributary of the Godāvarī.
