Keeping the above facts in mind and assuming that Himvat is the same as our Himālayas, let us attempt to identify Meru in the great mountain complex which lies north of the Himālayas—Himālayas taken in its broadest sense, i.e., the chains of mountains which extend from east to west and bound Bhārata in the north.
