(ii) As the snow falls on the high mountains they identify it with the snow cap of High Asia which covers its high ranges and its central knot, the Pāmīrs. Gaṅgā is just a cover or belt of snow and ice at this stage. This is the Gaṅgā at its ‘snowy’ stage.
