Mungir is the Mudgagiri of Pâla inscriptions and it is said to be the Modâgiri (the capital of an eastern kingdom near Vanga ; Mahâ Bhârata). Madgurakas of E. India [Matsya CXIII. 44] seem to be connected with it.
