Ahobala-Nrisimha—A celebrated place of pilgrimage at a short distance to the east of Cuddapah in Sirvel Taluk in the district of Karnul in the province of Madras: the image of Nrisimha is in the cavern of a hill called Gadurādri. It was visited by Śankarāchāryya and Chaitanya. Three temples stand on the hill—one at the foot, one halfway up, and one at the top; they are considered to be very sacred (*Sankara-vijaya*; *Chaitanya-charitāmṛita*, Madhya, ch. 9; *Epigraphia Indica*, I, 368; III, 240).
