Karmanâśâ—The river Karmanâśâ is situated on the western limits of the district of Shahabad in Bengal, and forms the boundary between the province of Bengal and the United Provinces. Its water is considered to have been polluted by the Hindus, being associated with the sins of Triśaṅku of the Râmâyaṇa.
