Kedârnâth—Kedâra, situated at the source of the Kâlî-Gangâ. The celebrated temple of Kedârnâtha is situated in the Rudra Himalaya in Garwal below the peak of Mahâpantha on the west of Badrinâth. The worship of Mahâdeva Kedârnâtha is said to have been established by Arjuna, one of the five Pânḍavas. The river Kâlî-Gangâ rises at this place and joins the Alakânandâ at Rudra-Prayâga.
