Law’s *Śrāvastī in Indian Literature*, *Rājagriha in Ancient Literature*, *Kauśāmbi in Ancient Literature* and *Panchālas and their capital Ahicchatra* published by the Archæological Department of the Government of India as their Memoirs Nos. 50, 58, 60 and 67 contain exhaustive and systematic accounts of the four ancient Indian cities based on literary, epigraphic and numismatic materials as well as on the accounts of the Greek and Chinese travellers in a handy form so as to render them useful to the archæologists and historians.
