Madhyama-Kaliṅga.—It was the name of the territory which roughly corresponds to the modern district of Vizagapatam (E.I., VI, 227, 358; Annual Report of the South Indian Epigraphy, 1909, p. 106; Ibid., 1918, p. 132). According to some it seems to be identical with Modocalingae of Megasthenes (I.A., VI, 338).
