Mahā-Gaurī.—The Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa (LVII, 25) refers to it which is a synonym of Brāhmaṇī. It is the modern river Brāhmaṇī in Orissa (cf. Mahābhārata, Bhīṣmaparva, IX, 341).
