Velanāṇḍu.—The Sakarambu Inscription refers to it (Annual Report of South Indian Epigraphy, 1917, p. 116; E.I., XXIV, Pt. VI, p. 273). Velanāṇḍuviṣaya corresponds to the modern Repalle taluk of the Guntur district (I.A., XII, 91). Some later Velanāṇḍu chiefs claimed Kirtipura in Madhyadeśa as their original home.
