*Yayātinagara*.—It is the ancient name of Kataka in Orissa (*E.I.*, III, 323ff.). Some have identified it with Jājpur in Orissa but it seems to be unacceptable on the ground that Yayātinagara was on the Mahānadi while Jājpur is on the Vaitaraṇi. Moreover the charter contained in the Inscription was issued from the city of Kaṭaka which is evidently the modern town of Cuttack (*E.I.*, III, p. 341).
