Singatia.—This is the name of a river mentioned in the Naihati copperplate of Ballālasena. It flowed in the north of the village of Khāṇḍayillā, identified with modern Khāruliā, and to the west of the village of Ambayillā (Ambagrāma) in the Murshidabad district, Bengal (N. G. Majumdar, *Inscriptions of Bengal*, Vol. III, pp. 71ff.).
