Surathā.—This river is mentioned in the *Kūrma Purāṇa* (XLVII, 30); Varāha Purāṇa (LXXXV) and *Bhāgavata Purāṇa* (XIX, 17). Its different reading is Surasā. It issues from the Ṛkṣa and the Vindhya mountains (vide, B. C. Law, *Geographical Essays*, p. 111).
