The *Bodhisattvāvadāna Kalpalatā* of Kṣemendra points out that Surpāraka in his old age undertook a voyage with some merchants to trade with the inhabitants of Bharukaccha.³ The *Gaṇḍavyūha*, a Northern Buddhist text, refers to a goldsmith of Bharukaccha named Muktasāra.⁴
