8. *Mk*—अपरान्ताश्च शूद्राश्च, *Vy acde, Bmd*—अपरीताश्च शूद्राश्च; *Vy b* omits शूद्र; *Mts a*—पुरन्ध्राश्चैव शूद्राश्च, *bc*—पुरन्ध्राश्चैव शूद्राश्च, *c* (v.l.)—परान्ध्राश्चैव शूद्राश्च; *Vmn*—अपरान्तस्तथा शूद्राः. The Śūdras lived near the Ābhīras; cf. Sircar, *op. cit.*, p. 242. Aparānta=Aparīta=Purandhra may be Greek Paraitakene in the lower Helmund valley. As the Śūdras are mentioned below separately (p. 25, n. 2), we may possibly suggest Kṣudra or Kṣudraka (Greek Oxydrakai) living about the Montgomery Dist. See Raychaudhuri, *op. cit.*, p. 205.
