140. Restoration is seldom regularly required in isolated words and forms. Although dayiṣṇá, práyiṣṭha, siáma are all commoner than the forms deṣṇá, préṣṭha, syáma which appear in the text, other words of the same type have the shorter forms more often, so that these words are better considered as belonging to the second group: and in the same way bhaásvat and daásvat are most conveniently treated in connexion with bhaás and †daás.
