(iv) From *ri*, *rī* ‘flow,’ the text gives *riṇā-*, *riṇī-* correctly: and the short vowel must regularly be restored in all similar formations, as in *kriṇāti*, *druṇānā*, *priṇán*, *bhriṇánti*, *śriṇīhi*, in agreement with the history of the forms.
