The restoration of an instrumental in -*tī* for -*tyā* has already been discussed in § 139 iii; the examples are given on p. 29 (A 5). Similarly *yuvatéḥ* may be restored for *yuvatyāḥ* x 40 11b (6A), and *táviṣeḥ* for *táviṣyāḥ* v 29 14d (6A). In all these cases the rarity of a long syllable in the second place after the caesura is the justification of the change.
