Panjabi हूण, G. S. हाणे, B. एखन, and a dialectic form in O. उकुण, all meaning “now,” are to be referred, as the B. form clearly shows, to the Skr. क्षण “instant, moment.” For the rest of the series P. has जद, तद, कद. S., however, has another type हिंअर, हेर “now,” in which we may, perhaps, see the Skr. काल “time,” combined with the pronoun हिं “this;”
