पांशु। अन्यत्राश्रुतप्रत्यश्रुतप्रवरसंवादसंप्रेष्य॥१०॥ एतेषामुच्चारणस्य परार्थत्वाच्चैद्धमेव॥ of the music which the Udgâtris performed, we can see from the numerous and elaborate rules, however unintelligible, that their music was more than mere chanting. The words of their songs were collected in the order of the sacrifice, and this libretto is what we possess under the name of Sâma-veda-sanhitâ, or the prayer-book of the Udgâtri priests.¹
