जयति वाध्यापयति वा स्थाणुं वच्छति गर्तं वापद्यते (MS. 689. गर्तं वापद्यते) प्र वा मीयते पापीयान्भवति यातया-मान्यस्य छंदंसि भवंति। This passage is referred to by Kâtyâyana, when he says: अनेवंवितो यातयामानि छंदंसि भवंति स्थाणुं वच्छति गर्तं वा पत्यते प्रमीयते वा पापी-यान्भवतीति विज्ञायते॥ See also Kâtyâyana’s Introduction to his Anukramaṇî of the Mâdhyandina-śâkhâ, and Rig-veda-bhâshya, p. 40.
