‡ As a matter of fact, we find in the Mahá-Bhárata a Subhadrá as wife of Arjuna, the representative of the Pañchálas; on account of a Subhadrá (possibly on account of her abduction, related in the Mahá-Bhárata?) a great war seems to have arisen, as appears from some words quoted several times by the scholiast on Páṇini. Has he the authority of the Mahábháshya for this? [the Mahábháshya has nothing about it].
