√ u, ‘proclaim’. Pres. [2.] uve RV.¹ — [5.] unoti RV.¹. [— 1. avate.] [Perf. etc. etc. ūve; āuṣṭa; oṣyate, otā; ūṣiṣa-, āvaya-.] Extremely doubtful root; uvé is possibly interjection (Bö.); vyùnoti is perhaps for víyunoti; and the pple óta, put here by BR., doubtless belongs to √ vā, ‘weave’.
