³ 123 Parvans in the edition of the Padma-Purāṇa correspond to the 118 sections of the Paüma-Cariya. How exactly Raviṣeṇa follows Vimala is shown, for instance, in Padma-Purāṇa I, 43 f., where the 7 objects of the "Purāṇa" are enumerated in almost literal agreement with Paüma-Cariya I, 32 f. It is very desirable, however, that a careful comparison of all the Jinistic adaptations of the Rāma legend be made.
