Gomukha drove the chariot swiftly till he came to a spot where he saw an elephant ambling in a leisurely fashion. Stopping the chariot, he asked the *mahout* not to obstruct his path. The *mahout* told him finally that what he was doing was right. The elephant was resting and if he tried to disturb him, he would never forgive him. Gamukha had no other choice except to ask the driver to turn the chariot and follow another road. The charioteer led him to the "Palace of Wit" (*chetasyavasa*).
