Draupadī narrates to Yudhiṣṭhira what Prahlāda spoke to his grandson Bali in days of yore. Those who committed offences unwittingly for the first time may be forgiven after proper enquiry (सुपरीक्ष्यपरोक्षया). But those who wrong a second time and that knowingly, are liable to punishment.¹
