Vyūhas: It would be interesting to consider the disposition of the army or order of battle, called vyūha in Sanskrit literature.⁷⁷ This belongs to the province of tactics, while the plan of war is strategy. It must not be forgotten, however, that the deployment and the drawing up of the army in array form the chief part of the plan of battle which should be arranged in accordance with the nature of the ground.
