Thus Bābar in his “Memoirs” uses a word which also means originally a cart, the Arabic word *ʿarābah*. But if this were in Turkī the well known and accepted name of the cart on which a gun was placed, why does Bābar’s cousin and contemporary use the Persian word *gardūn* (lit. wheel) for the same thing?
