⁹⁸² Nārāyaṇa on Āśv. gṛ. I. 8. 16 says that the '*maṇi*' is 'suvarṇamaya (made of gold). Āp. gṛ. 12. 8 speaks of '*maṇiṁ sauvarṇaṁ sopadhānam*' (a golden bead with two precious stones on two sides).
