¹⁷²⁹ सृज्यते ब्रह्ममूर्त्तिस्तु रक्षते पौरुषी तनुः । रौद्रीभावेन शमयेत्तिस्रोऽवस्थाः प्रजापतेः ॥ वनपर्व 272. 48; नमस्त्रिमूर्तये तुभ्यं प्राक् सृष्टेः केवलात्मने । गुणत्रयविभागाय पश्चाद्भेदमुपेयुषे ॥ कुमारसंभव II. 4. It is noteworthy that the three aspects of creation, preservation and destruction are ascribed by Kālidāsa to Brahmā here and not to Viṣṇu.
