²²⁴¹ The reason why ब्रह्मोदन is so called is given by Sāyaṇa on Tai. Br. I. 1. 9 ‘ब्रह्माणे देवमुद्दिश्य होमार्थं ब्राह्मणानामृत्विजां च प्राशनार्थं च पच्यमान ओदनो ब्रह्मोदनः’.
