²³¹³ The प्रेष is 'त्रिष्फलीकर्तवै' (Āp. I. 20. 11 and सत्याषाढ I. 5). फलीकरणं तण्डुलेभ्यः कणानां वियोगकरणम् । com. on सत्याषाढ I. 5. This is to be done thrice, once by the wife, then by the āgnīdhra, and then again by the wife. If the wife is not available, then the third is done by the adhvaryu himself. The mantra is recited only once. Vide 'यो वा कश्चिदविद्यमानायाम् ' आप. I. 20. 13 and com. 'अविद्यमानायामनालम्भुकत्वादिना निमित्तेनासंसिहितायामभावे वा तस्या इत्यर्थोऽविशेषात्.'
