²⁶⁶¹ Kat. (XIX. 1. 18 ff) uses the words शष्प (malted rice or grass), तोक्म (malted barley), नग्नहु (vegetable substances). The com. on Kāt. XIX. 1. 20 quotes verses specifying these latter: 'सर्जत्वक् त्रिफला चैव शुण्ठी चैव पुनर्नवा। चतुर्जातक्संयुक्ता पिप्पला गजपिप्पली। वंशोऽरुका बृहच्छत्रा चित्रकं चेन्द्र-वारुणी। अश्वगन्धां समुत्पाट्य मूलान्येतानि निर्वपेत् ॥ धान्यकं च यवानीं च जीरकं कृष्णजीरकम्। द्वे हरिद्रे वचा चैव विरूढा व्रीहयो यवाः।' Āp. XIX. 5. 4 defines नग्नहु differently.
