²⁶⁶² Āp. XIX.5-6 and Baud. XVII.31-32 state methods of preparing surā which differ in several details,though the principle is the same. It is prepared by fermentation from rice, barley and other corn. So this surā would be 'paiṣṭī' out of the three varieties mentioned in Manu XI. 94.
