¹²⁴³ As this is a decision of the highest tribunal for British India it must be taken to be the law. The Privy Council was probably influenced by the description of such secondary sons as the sahoḍha. The decision is in accordance with English Law and section 112 of the Indian Evidence Act. Vide Dr. Bannerjee's 'Marriage and stridhana' p. 177 for criticism of the P. C. decision.
