महापीलुपति—The great superintendent of elephants. Mahāpīlupati Pāśupata was the *dūtaka* of the Abhona plates of Kaṭaccuri Śaṅkaragaṇa in Kaṭaccuri *saṃvat* 347 (i. e. 595-6 A. D.) in E. I. IX p. 296 at p. 298. The word also occurs in Lakṣmaṇasena's grant (E. I. XII p. 6 at p. 9).
